My wife Liz and I are strong believers in Catholic education. All six of our children have benefitted greatly from Ascension School. I would like to help the school continue to grow and flourish so that other children and families may benefit as well from the unique educational environment of Ascension School.
Community and School Involvement:
Parish Council 2008-2011; Finance Committee 2009-Present; Appalachian Service project 2011-present; Board Member of Brothers and Sisters of Love (Gang ministry) 2005-present.
Education and Professional Background:
Northwestern University BA, and Northwestern University School of Law. Attorney, Applegate and Thorne-Thomsen P.C., specialty in affordable housing development.

As a parent of two Ascension students, I want to insure that they and their classmates receive the highest quality education and experience all that Ascension can offer. I feel that to continue the tradition of excellence our school has achieved, it is vitally
important that our students have access to the best technology that we can provide. I also believe in the importance of the wonderful Early Childhood program at Ascension.
As a School Board member I will be an advocate for improving the level of technology in the classrooms as well as expanding the Early Childhood program.
Community and School Involvement:
I volunteered at many Ascension events. My wife has served as the Auction Committee as well as Home and School I have been actively involved in the Big Shoulders Funds which provides funding and scholarship to inner city Catholic Schools. I am also a proud assistant coach of the White Sox T-Ball team in Oak Park.

Graduate of St. Luke, Fenwick and Marquette University
I currently work for Mesirow Financial as an investment manager.

As a parent of two Ascension Chargers and a product of a Catholic education myself, I look forward to the opportunity to assist the Board and School leadership in developing the best education we can for students at Ascension. With a background in the arts as well as over 20 years experience in the fields of project management and business technology, I appreciate the full variety of the strengths and talents our children possess, as well as our responsibility to help them shape their gifts into tools that will help them succeed and serve their community and God throughout their lives.
I've been involved on the Auction Committee, as a parish cantor and a class
