The Ascension Home and School Association is the parent organization at Ascension School. Its members seek to promote communications between parents, students, teachers, administrators and the community as a whole, toward supporting the larger goal of educating the students of Ascension School.

Home & School serves this purpose in several ways;

• We enhance school spirit and build connections between Ascension students, parents and staff by sponsoring school events – including the annual School Picnic, Buddy Bingo, Buddy Bowling, Tea with Santa, and the annual Sock Hop;

• We enrich our students’ academic education by providing ongoing assembly programming – including live performances of music and theater, and presentations covering topics in science, culture and character education;

• We boost parental involvement by coordinating Room Parent and ongoing volunteer opportunities throughout the school;

• We facilitate communication by producing the annual student directory, sponsoring informational seminars regarding topics of parent interest, and offering friendly assistance to parents and families new to Ascension.

The Home & School Board acts as the coordinating body for the events and activities sponsored by Home & School. This year’s Home and School Board includes:

Each spring the Home & School membership is informed of board vacancies for the upcoming school year. Board membership is non-elected, any Ascension parent or guardian may volunteer to join. Members serve a three-year term, and meet monthly, August –June, to plan, eat, drink and laugh their way through approximately one hour of incredible fun. Members serve on one or more activity committees throughout the year and may volunteer for Home & School projects outside of their committee work.
