General Information

All boys wear light blue polo shirts which may be tucked in blue pants, or worn out of pants.  Students must wear white under shirts, which should not hang below sleeves or shirt bottoms.  Harvey Uniforms has a straight bottom boys' shirt with a logo, but any properly fitting, light blue polo shirt may be worn. 

Girls wear Jumpers with white blouses in Kindergarten through Grade 4.White banded-bottom shirts are worn in Grades 5-8, with a uniform skirt or blue slacks.

Kindergarten and Grades 1-3 wear gym clothes to school all day when they have physical education, so white shirts should be clean and properly fitted, and display the student's name. All children bring white gym shirts or Run-A-Thon shirts on gym days.   Ascension sweat pants, with logos, or other navy, plain gym pants are available from several stores, and uniform suppliers. Since Kindergarten children are often at work on the floor, a “gym style” uniform is preferred, but boys and girls can wear the "traditional" primary grades uniform, too. 

Girls' Uniform Specifics
Ascension School's Uniform for girls is a navy blue plaid, pleated garment from an Ascension approved Uniform Company.

• K - 4 girls wear the uniform jumper; 5 - 8 girls wear the uniform skirt.
• Kindergarten girls are required to wear shorts that do not extend past their jumper.
• All girls may wear tailored, navy blue twill or corduroy dress slacks.
• K-4 girls wear a plain white blouse, shirt, or knit "polo" shirt with the uniform.
• Girls in grades 5 - 8 wear white banded polo shirts bloused at the waist. The Ascension logo is optional.
• Clothing under the uniform blouse must be white.
• Socks or tights must be solid plain white or navy blue.

Boys' Uniform Specifics
Ascension School's Uniform for boys is navy blue twill or corduroy dress slacks. Please note the following changes: 

• K - 8 boys wear a properly fitting, light blue knit polo shirt, which may be worn tucked in pants, or worn out of pants. The Ascension logo is optional. See uniform company information, below.
• Undershirts, if worn, must be white.
• Socks must be solid navy, black or white.

Shoes/Shorts/Belt/Sweaters/Sweatshirts

Ascension students wear black, dark blue or dark brown dress shoes, or predominantly neutral color (white, black, navy, brown, gray, beige) athletic shoes.

Gym shoes must be worn for gym class and in the lunchroom.

Tailored, navy blue uniform shorts (not "skorts") are allowed until October 15 and after April 15.

Belt, if worn, must be a solid black, navy, or dark brown dress belt.

Sweaters are optional. If worn, they must be navy blue, long sleeved knit cardigan or pullover.Only Ascension School navy sweatshirts are allowed in class

Item that are not part of the Ascension uniform may not be worn.

The students will have appropriate, modest clean clothing. Unacceptable clothing includes, but is not limited to bare midriffs, spaghetti straps, low-cut, excessively tight and excessively short apparel.Hats, scarves, flip-flops, bandanas, pajama bottoms and ripped clothing are unacceptable.
The principal makes decisions on acceptable appearance.
