String Orchestras

Mrs. Coffman leads three wonderful Ascension orchestras in splendid performances in the Christmas concerts held every December. .

Ascension's strings program includes the Sinfonia:  beginning students learning
how to read music, play together
and follow a conductor.

The largest group is the Philharmonic, mostly third through fifth graders, who are tackling more difficult pieces of music.

The most advanced students are in the Chamber Orchestra; they listen to each other very carefully to be able to play without a conductor.
