New Netbooks

The 2nd grade students are practicing their Math skills on the 6 new netbook computers that will be used in the primary grades this semester.

Prayer Service

Both 2nd grade classrooms held a prayer service with Father Larry, with the theme of "Listening". Each of the 2nd graders pledged on the Bible to open their eyes and ears and listen to the good news of Jesus.

Buddies

7th graders in Room 205 visited their buddies in Room104. Second graders are working on an animal project, and their buddies were happy to help.

Character Masks and Thanksgiving Decorations

Second graders in Mr. Gartland’s class made character masks for their book reports.  They also made special Thanksgiving decorations for parishioners that are visited by Ministers of Care through Ascension Church.

At the Firehouse

Both 2nd grade classes visited Oak Park Fire Station #3 at East and Garfield.  The children are learning about Community Helpers in their Social Studies unit this month.  They talked about the roles of firefighters in the community.  They were able to see the living quarters and tour the trucks and station.  Thank you to the Oak Park Fire Department for their warm welcome!
