Family Fundraising Commitment

Each Ascension School family is asked to make a commitment to support specific school fundraising programs.

The family commitment is determined by the age of number of children at Ascension but is generally between $200 and $300 annually.  With each purchase you make from the commitment programs, the profit to Ascension is applied to the family commitment.  If the family continues to participate in the fundraising program when the commitment is fulfilled, a portion of that discount can be applied to their tuition.

Monthly reports included with your tuition bill help you keep track of your commitment status.

Participation in these programs helps meet the fundraising commitment:

How to Calculate Your Commitment

If your oldest child is in PK3 or PK4, your fundraising commitment is $100.

If your oldest child is in kindergarten, your fundraising commitment is $150.

If your oldest child is in grade one through eight, your fundraising commitment is $225.

For each additional child, your commitment goes up $25.

More on commitment programs...

Ascension's Shopping Certificate program, called "scrip" or Manna in other schools, offers families the opportunity to purchase gift certificates for a wide range of restaurants and retail outlets.  Ascension purchases these certificates at a discount and sells them at face value.  For example, certificates are available for Borders Books and Music in $25 gift cards and 9% of the purchase amount benefits Ascension.  Certificates are available in the Parish Office from 8 until 4 Monday through Friday, by order through the school office and after 9 and 11 am Masses on Sunday.  Questions?  Please call the school office:  708-386-7282.

Do you enjoy the ease and convenience of shopping from home?  Schoolpop.com is the portal for an amazing number of online stores.  Enter them through the Schoolpop door and Ascension receives a certain percentage of all purchases.

Market Day and Market Basket are options for grocery shopping -- except that you don't visit the store, you just pick up your order at the Ascension gym.  Market Day is a national program offering frozen and convenience foods through a monthly order.  Forms are available at school and parish offices or at www.marketday.org.

Market Basket offers produce from local vendors, available via bi-monthly orders.  Market Baskets are available in different sizes and are filled with foods that are healthy and in-season.

Order forms are available through school and parish offices.

Box top Promotion

Box tops

If you’ve got a collection of Box tops for Education coupons in your kitchen this is the time to gather them and bring them to either the parish or school office.   General Mills is offering an even match from now until late October, so your coupon is worth double.  Ascension is hoping to fill 300 special collection sheets during this next month, each sheet holds thirty coupons, so if we meet our goal, we’ll make $1,800.  Mrs. Parilli’s kindergartners are helping to cut and paste but you’re welcome to help out—collection sheets are available at both Ascension offices.
