Band Program

Ascension's Band Program is coordinated by Music Education Service. Our instructor is Mr. Charles Shapera. read more about Mr. Shapera at The Crescendo, Music Education Service's on line newsletter. Over 25 students participate in the program.

Mr. Shapera also teacher instrumental students at other local schools: St. Vincent, St. Edmund, and St. Odilo. When it's time for a concert, all the band students play together. There are three levels: Beginner Band, Intermediate Band and Advanced Band.

Small group lessons are scheduled during the school day. Group rehearsals for each band are before or after school..

Many of Ascension's Band students participated in the IMEA Solo and Ensemble Contest.
