Lots of great new fun at Ascension's main social and fundraising event of the year. Here's the timetable:

6 pm: The festivities begin in the Ascension gym! Mingle with friends, enjoy amazing appetizers from Maya del Sol and place bids on all of the silent auction items.  Come early to make sure you have time to bid on everything!

Guests who arrive before 7 pm will receive two free drink tickets!

6 to 8:30 pm Silent Auction: Be sure to give yourself time to hit all the tables repeatedly. Make notes in your program about those "gotta have" items so you don't forget to check your bids. The auctioneer will close down the bidding at the silent tables one section at a time. The first tables will close at 8:15 pm and the last will close at 8:35 pm.

Watch for the beautiful fema clay jewelry made by the Ascension School Class of 2010. Mrs. Pesce and Mrs. Gregory helped students with the creation of these little gems.

Pay to Play/Sign to Dine! No bidding here, just sign up for any of these wonderful group items. Pay to Play will include parties for kids, classes for adults. Sign to Dine features dinners hosted by the best chefs in our community. Go with friends--or go to make new friends. Watch this page for details.

During this time you'll also want to pick up your First Choice raffle ticket. Fifty-two First Choice tickets will be sold at $100 each. The winning ticket will be drawn at the start of the Live Auction and the lucky bidder holding that ticket takes their choice from among the Live Auction items.

Live Auction at 8:45. Take a seat and enjoy the show! The auctioneer will present the biggest prizes of the night and auction them off one at a time.  Stay tuned for more information on these items as they become available.

Our Live includes one of the perennial auction favorites: Heads or Tails. Be sure to pick up your playing piece early in the evening; maybe this is the year you'll end up on stage placing your bet.

Also during the Live: Fund-a-Need. Can you help us realize our fondest Pipe Dreams! Stay tuned for more about Pipe Dreams!

9:45 pm until midnight: The Pine Room turns into our own Casino Royale:
Enjoy more food, more drinks (including a martini bar!), a cover band, a coffee and dessert bar, raffles and games of chance.  Build a team to test your Bond IQ and a chance to win a great dinner party.

Don't forget about our online auction, too! Online items will not be available at the November 21 event but these, too, will help fund Ascension. Click below for an auction donation form or to make a reservation or Fund-a-Need gift.

About the Auction

The auction was begun by a group of volunteers led by Laura Allen and Mickie Kerr to help raise money for the school. Last year, the auction netted over $86,000 for Ascension's operating budget.

Ascension's auction, decidedly one of the most fun events (for adults!) of the year, kicks off the holiday party season.  It is not a formal evening but it is a very special one; you'll see dress casual attire, some suits, some long dresses, some sweaters and slacks.  The night begins in the gym at 6 pm with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres during the silent auction bidding.  All of the items up for bid are donated, either by local businesses or by friends of our Ascension Parish: parishioners, school or Religious Ed families, grandparents, school alumni, etc.  At 8:45 the action concentrates around the gym stage for the always entertaining, sometimes even raucous, live auction.  This is where the most money changes hands but even those who aren't among the big spenders enjoy being spectators!  The bidding here is for the use of vacation homes, special dinner parties, golf weekends, handcrafted furniture...and more.

One special feature of the auction is the Eighth Grade art project.  Our talented Ascension School students, working with Mrs. Pesce, produce amazing samples of their work and donate them for the benefit of their school.
